Foreigners need not worry as there are three international airports and five domestic airports in Bangladesh. The international airports are as follows:
- Hazrat Shahjalal(R) Airport, Dhaka
- Osmani International Airport, Sylhet
- Shah Amanat International Airport, Chittagong
Shah Amanat International Airport, Chittagong: The second largest airport of the country located in Chittagong, the south-eastern port city of Bangladesh. This airport handles about 17% passengers and ensures them with all the facilities that are required for a safe and enjoyable air-travel. Previously known as MA Hannan International Airport this was renamed in 2005 after an Islamic saint. The major airlines operating from here are Biman Bangladesh Airlines, GMG Airlines, United Airways, Thai Airways International, Air Asia, Air Arabia and Oman Air.
Osmani International Airport, Sylhet: Located five miles north-east of Sylhet this third international airport shares a part of history. It was built during the British rule to check Japanese invasion from Burma and was known as Sylhet Civil Airport. Presently the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh looks after its administration and operation. Mainly the expatriate Bangladeshis and their descendants living in United Kingdom take flights from this airport. The major airlines operating here are the national Biman Bangladesh Airlines, private GMG Airlines and United Airways (Bangladesh).
The five domestic airports are Barisal Airport, Cox's Bazar Airport, Jessore Airport, Shah Makhdum Airport and Saidpur Airport.
